The choir voices were singing for Ulysses Chavez this school year as he received recognition as the Wingstop Student of the Month! Supported by the cooperation of Houston-area Wingstop brand partners, the program provided Ulysses with a $1,000 check. The director of operations for Wingstops in the area, Jonathon Cruz, surprised the young man at his performing arts school in Houston with the award. Though he was surprised, his fellow classmates and teachers were nothing but supportive. Singing congratulations as a choir, the class showered him in affection, and wished him luck in his future.

Check out the video below, which played on the local news, featuring his class singing congratulations.

They also sang to him in Spanish for Telemundo Houston. Felicidades, Ulysses!

We think there can’t be anyone more deserving, and the support shown from his classmates is a testament to his dedication and character. He also revealed that he just received acceptance to Brown University! What makes this even more special is that he will be the first in his family to attend college.

The Wingstop Student of the Month Award started in the spring of 2018 by Houston-area brand partners. A panel of Houston ISD members and members of the Wingstop Houston co-op select recipients. If you’re interested in nominating an outstanding senior in HISD, you can do so on Telemundo Houston’s site here.
